MARIA MARTINEZ, PH.D.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with expertise working with children and families. As a graduate of one of the best Clinical Psychology programs in the country, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I trained with world experts in therapy and assessment. My experience includes internship training at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, and the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. Postdoctoral training in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND fellowship) augmented this experience. I have co-authored publications, presented at national conferences, and am a co-investigator and consultant on research studies. Prior to doctoral training, I worked at the National Institute of Mental Health on depression and bipolar disorder research.
TAILORING SERVICES FOR YOU
With significant experience providing therapy to children, teens, adults and families, I tailor behavioral and cognitive behavioral interventions to fit clients' needs. Creating an environment that is supportive, fosters success and builds on current strengths are cornerstones of my practice. I have experience providing assessment, treatment recommendations, and effective behavioral interventions (very early on or after previous attempts have been unhelpful). I am experienced at working with families of diverse household compositions, world views and backgrounds. This experience leads to quality services delivered in a warm, welcoming environment.
